Material guide

Tungsten heavy alloys and machining swarf.

We assess tungsten heavy alloy components, offcuts, turnings and machining swarf. Examples include W–Ni–Fe, W–Ni–Cu and W–Ni–Co materials. Pure nickel alloys and tungsten carbide are separate material classes.

Composition matters

Provide any grade designation, analysis or composition already available. Heavy alloys can occur in balancing weights, shielding components and industrial parts. A trade name or appearance alone does not establish the composition.

Solid pieces and swarf

Indicate whether the batch is solid material, offcuts or swarf, and describe mixed metals, cutting oil or other contamination. The assessed composition and condition form the basis of the agreed valuation.
